Enforcement Directorate attaches Anil Ambani’s Mumbai residence ‘Abode’
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached Anil Ambani’s luxury Mumbai residence ‘Abode’ in Pali Hill, valued at Rs 3,716 crore, as part of a money laundering probe linked to alleged bank fraud by Reliance Communications (RCom).
‘Abode’ is a 17-storey, 66-meter-high structure in Mumbai’s upscale Pali Hill area. ED alleges the property was transferred to a private family trust to shield Anil Ambani’s involvement, with earlier partial attachment of Rs 473 crore.
The attachment stems from an ongoing PMLA investigation into RCom’s financial irregularities, including loan diversions exceeding Rs 13,600 crore for evergreening debts, routing to related parties, and foreign remittances. Total attachments in the RCom cases now exceed Rs 15,700 crore.
Anil Ambani, summoned for questioning on February 26, 2026—his second appearance after August 2025—faces scrutiny alongside associates like his wife Tina Ambani. Prior actions include arrests of RCom executives and asset seizures totaling thousands of crores.
