4 Indians students among several stabbed in university in Russia’s Ufa
Four Indian students were among several injured in a stabbing attack at Bashkir State Medical University in Ufa, Russia, on February 7, 2026.
A 15-year-old teenager entered a dormitory or sports hall in the foreign students’ hostel, armed with a knife, and stabbed multiple students unawares. He resisted arrest, injuring two police officers, and also harmed himself; he is now hospitalized in serious condition.
At least six to eight people were hurt, including the four Indian students; four injured are under treatment, with one in critical condition per Russia’s health ministry. The Indian Embassy in Moscow called it an “unfortunate incident” and sent consular officials from Kazan to assist the students.
Reports link the suspect to the banned neo-Nazi group NS/WP; he allegedly shouted Holocaust-related slogans and drew a swastika with victims’ blood on a wall. Local authorities launched a probe into the attack.
